A 1400kg hunting harvest!

During late July our friends from BDO Auditing came for their annual visit to our Karoo lodge.

On arrival we quickly unpacked and after a few cups of coffee we headed down to the range for some rifle sighting.

This is the 5th year in a row that the group has joined us for a 4 day hunting trip (they would be back again in September this year with their families to enjoy our fine Karoo sunsets and hospitality).

Kudu Bull harvested by hunter

Having finished up at the range we headed out for a late afternoon sunset drive and were lucky enough to bump into a good looking kudu bull which Mark took no time in taking down with his .308 Tikka. A good start to what would be a very successful trip.

The next day was spent down at our mountain properties where the guys were able to get some more cull animals that would be processed by our butchery staff for meat for their office employees. Brent took the culling to the next level with some fine shooting to harvest 6 nice sized Kudu, all of which would be handed out to his own office staff and their families.

Gemsbuck Bull harvested by hunter

By the end of the weekend the boys had taken 13 kudu, 2 gemsbuck and 18 springbuck.

A successful hunt indeed.

Our butchery staff would spend the next 4 days processing more than 1400kg of meat which would be delivered to Port Elizabeth and surrounding areas in the coming days.
